How are these fees verified?
Each entry is sourced from the platform's published fee schedule (linked when available). Entries marked "Verified" have been confirmed by AuctionIQ within the past 90 days. "Estimated" entries are best-effort numbers — common for regional auction houses where commissions vary per consignment. We re-audit the directory monthly.
What does "Effective Total %" actually mean?
It's the approximate percentage you lose to fees on the seller side, combining commission and payment processing. For auctions, the buyer's premium is paid by the buyer but typically suppresses the hammer price by a similar amount — so the effective hit to the seller is real even if it doesn't show on the seller's fee invoice.
Why are some auction houses missing fees?
Many regional auction houses negotiate consignment terms per lot or per consignor. We list the typical range from public information, but the actual rate may be lower for high-value items or higher for everyday estate goods. Always confirm with the house directly before consigning.
